Mr.AK Tareen addresses the UEF Trade Summit 2015
Mr.AK Tareen was invited to address The United Economic Forum Trade Summit 2015 – an International Trade Show and Conference held in Chennai on 14th & 15th November 2015. The event was attended by over 600 senior decision makers from the Indian Federal and State Governments, Ambassadors from various countries, Consulates and Businesses. Eminent speakers from around the world deliberated on enhancing business opportunities in todays global scenario. The Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir – Mr.Mufti Mohammed Sayeed inaugurated the event that saw MOUs for Trade and Investments worth USD 350Mn signed in the inaugural session.
Mr. Tareen spoke in the session on ‘Moving up the value chain’ along with some highly distinguished personalities such as Mr. C.V.Sankar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to The Government of Tamilnadu – Mr.M.F.Farooqui, IAS , Former Secretary to The Government of India, Mr.Ahmed Buhari, Founder President & CEO, Coal & Oil Company LLC & Mr. Jagmohan Singh Raju, Principal Secretary (MSME), The Government of Tamilnadu. As someone working with Foreign Governments and Corporates to facilitate international Trade and Investments with India for nearly 3 decades, Mr.Tareen said, “Today, every organisation, no matter how small or remote, has to think Global as your markets and competitors are no more local. While on the one side, your product or service can find buyers anywhere in the world, your local customers too can be targeted by competitors from other parts of the world” . He gave the analogy of ‘Walking up the down escalator’ and emphasised that even just to maintain their current market position, businesses and organisations need to constantly keep moving up the value chain through Technology and Innovation.
