AK Tareen addresses ‘Horasis India 2023’ in Adelaide, Australia

Mr. AK Tareen was invited to share his thoughts on the Australia India trade and investment relations at Horasis India 2023 conference held in Adelaide from 26th to 28th October 2023. He was also the Master of Ceremonies at the Gala opening dinner held at the beautiful Adelaide Oval.

Horasis, started by former secretary general of The World Economic Forum, Dr.Frank Jurgen Richter in 2009, is a global event and a prestigious platform for business leaders, investors, academicians, thinkers and innovators from around the world to gather and share their thoughts for ‘an inspiring future.’

Horasis India 2023, supported by Invest SA, Government of South Australia, Business SA and Confederation of Indian Industry was a huge success with nearly 200 senior leaders from across Australia, India and the world gathering to brain storm on a wide range of exciting and hot topics. The Indian government was also well represented by its current as well as former senior bureaucrats.

As Australia’s longest served trade commissioner in India who had the privilege of representing both Australia’s federal government agency -Austrade, as well the state government of South Australia, Mr. Tareen spoke about his experience in developing bilateral ties with India since 1995. He also addressed some of the challenges on the road and shared some tips on managing them.

As South Australia’s inaugural senior trade commissioner to India and South Asia, Mr.Tareen had played a key role in the rapid growth of South Australia’s exports & investments and also growing the number of Indian students, tourists and migrants.

Earlier, Mr. Tareen established and managed Austrade’s brand new offices in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and also leading Australia’s industry strategies in India and South Asia.
